External Examination

NeckLigature mark present โ€” circumferential, horizontal pattern, consistent with a braided cord or rope of approximately 8โ€“10mm diameter. Petechial haemorrhages bilateral conjunctivae. No bruising suggesting a struggle prior to ligature application.
Upper limbsNo defensive injuries. No perimortem bruising to hands, forearms, or knuckles.
Lower limbsNo perimortem injuries.
ClothingT-shirt (crew merchandise, "Zara Ruk"), jeans. Whisky glass in right hand โ€” grip was likely passive at time of death (not active grip).
FaceCyanosis present. Facial musculature suggests subject was sedated and non-responsive prior to ligature application.
Internal Examination
SystemFindings
CardiovascularNo pre-existing cardiac pathology. Petechiae consistent with asphyxia.
RespiratoryPulmonary oedema present โ€” consistent with asphyxiation.
GastrointestinalStomach contents: approximately 90 mL liquid (amber coloured, consistent with whisky). No solid food. Gastric mucosa shows no ulceration.
CNSNo structural injury. Brain shows generalised hypoxic change consistent with cause of death.
Toxicological samplesBlood (femoral and cardiac), vitreous, urine, gastric wash โ€” submitted to AIIMS Toxicology Lab.
Time of Death
Based on core body temperature at scene (rectal โ€” 34.2ยฐC at 21:10), rigor mortis onset, and ambient temperature (28ยฐC at scene): estimated time of death 20:10 โ€“ 20:40 on 14 February 2025. Margin of error ยฑ15 minutes.
Cause of Death
Asphyxia due to ligature strangulation. Subject was incapacitated prior to manual application of the ligature โ€” absence of defensive injuries and distribution of petechiae are consistent with this sequence. Toxicological analysis pending (expedited โ€” results within 12 hours).
Manner of Death
Homicide.
