Background and Scope
This report is a follow-up to the initial badge extract (FCST-RFID-20250214-EX). The ACU server logs were re-examined to address two specific queries raised by the investigating officer: (1) the physical custody history of badge NK-DIR-0089 — specifically, whether the registered holder was the person who carried it on 14 February; (2) the explanation for the 51-minute gap in badge activity for SR-PROD-0042 (Rane, Sameer) between 19:47:06 and 20:38:29.
BADGE NK-DIR-0089 — CUSTODY AND USAGE ANALYSIS
Badge NK-DIR-0089 is registered to Kapoor, Nandini (Director). The badge has been active on the system since 11 December 2024 (production start date). A review of the full scan history for NK-DIR-0089 across the production period reveals no prior instance of the badge scanning at Trailer Block C (Reader R-TRLC-01) before 14 February 2025. The badge's typical scan pattern is restricted to: Editing Suite Block (R-EDIT-01), Stage 3 (R-STG3-01), Stage 4 (R-STG4-01), and occasionally the Main Production Office (R-PROD-01).
On 14 February 2025, badge NK-DIR-0089 scanned at R-TRLC-01 at 20:07:41 — the sole scan of this badge at Trailer Block C across the entire production period. The registered holder, Kapoor, Nandini, states in her witness statement (recorded 15 February 2025) that she kept her badge clipped to her production jacket throughout that day. Her jacket — a blue crew jacket with her name and role printed on the rear — was found hanging inside the Editing Suite at approximately 21:30. The badge was clipped to it.
Interview Summary — Kapoor, Nandini (15 Feb 2025, 09:45)
Kapoor states she removed her jacket at approximately 17:30 after the final scene wrapped and hung it on a hook near the editing suite entrance. She then changed into her personal clothing (a grey kurta) for the wrap party. She did not return to the jacket until security requested she account for her badge, at which point it was still attached. She has no explanation for how her badge was scanned at Block C at 20:07:41. She was in the Editing Suite from approximately 20:00 onwards — confirmed by four crew members (see E15).
BADGE SR-PROD-0042 — GAP ANALYSIS (19:47 – 20:38)
The badge extract (E04) shows SR-PROD-0042 last scanning at R-PROD-01 at 19:47:06, with no further scan until R-PARK-B1 at 20:38:29 — a gap of 51 minutes and 23 seconds. During this interval, SR-PROD-0042 produced no system reads at any campus reader.
CAMPUS READER COVERAGE NOTE — ACU Technical Review
Film City Studios RFID coverage does not extend to all areas of the campus.
Known dead zones include:
- Trailer Block C and surrounding service roads (covered by R-TRLC-01 entry only,
no interior readers)
- Parking Level 1 open bay area (reader R-PARK-B1 covers stairwell access only,
not parking bay movements)
- External perimeter road (no reader coverage)
Movement through Trailer Block C interior generates no badge reads beyond
the entry gate (R-TRLC-01). A person inside Block C between 19:47 and 20:38
would produce zero badge events if they entered without scanning their own badge.
Vehicle Movement — Parking Log Cross-Reference
Vehicle MH-04-ER-7823 (registered to Rane, Sameer) is recorded in the Film City Studios vehicle log exiting at 19:51 via Gate 2 (south), and re-entering at 20:40 via the same gate. The gate security officer's log entry states: "Producer Rane — stepped out briefly, back within hour." A parking bay scan at Level 1 / Stairwell B (R-PARK-B1) at 20:38:29 is the first badge read for SR-PROD-0042 after the 51-minute gap, consistent with re-entering via the parking structure. The external exit/entry via Gate 2 bypasses all internal RFID readers.
The combination of the vehicle exit at 19:51 and badge re-scan at 20:38 accounts for approximately 49 minutes of SR-PROD-0042's gap. The first seven minutes of the gap (19:47–19:54) remain unaccounted for by vehicle movement records alone. The gap is not inconsistent with a person who moved through Trailer Block C before leaving via the external gate — a route that would pass the Block C entrance without requiring a badge scan if the gate were already open or propped.
Conclusion of Analysis
The evidence indicates that badge NK-DIR-0089 was not in the possession of its registered holder at 20:07:41 on 14 February 2025. The badge was separated from its holder between approximately 17:30 (when the jacket was hung up) and 20:07. Any person with access to the Editing Suite during that window — an area with no visitor sign-in requirement — could have retrieved the badge from the jacket. The identity of the individual who carried badge NK-DIR-0089 into Trailer Block C at 20:07 cannot be determined from badge records alone.
