KILLER: Deepa Singhania, 54, Wife
MOTIVE: Harish had maintained a secret second family in Dubai since 2018. In February 2025, Deepa discovered the Dubai wife, the two children, and the new will that cut her from 60% to 30% of the estate — while leaving 70% to Ayesha. He had served divorce papers on 12 March — 9 days before the wedding. But Deepa had been planning far longer: the shell company (JMRF) was incorporated in November 2024, and the thallium was purchased on 14 February — 35 days before the wedding. The divorce notice simply confirmed the timeline.
METHOD: She sourced thallium acetate in February through a false research foundation. On the evening of the wedding, she used her suite key card to enter Suite 214 at 11:06 PM (while Harish was still at the reception). The wine had been delivered earlier. She laced one glass, left at 11:19 PM, and returned to the reception. Harish retired to the suite at 11:27 PM. The glass had already been poured and dosed by Deepa during her visit. He drank it and was dead within 45 minutes.
FATAL MISTAKE: The suite's key card system logged her 13-minute entry during the murder window. Combined with CCTV showing her 46-minute absence from the reception, the purchase records for thallium acetate, and the Dubai family documents — the case is complete.
