KILLER: Prakash Shah, 48, Elder Son
MOTIVE: At breakfast, Kailash told Prakash that the new deed would increase Dilip's share from 15% to 30% — and that Dilip would be given operational control of the Mumbai office. After 16 hours of simmering anger, Prakash went to his father's study around 11 PM. He picked up the silver candlestick from the prayer room as he passed it. Three strikes. He tore the relevant clause from the deed. Tried to look into the safe (his fingerprints) to see if earlier will versions existed. Left. Hid the candlestick in his bathroom.
FATAL MISTAKES: (1) He didn't clean the candlestick thoroughly — blood in the ornamental grooves. (2) His fingerprints were on the safe but he denied touching it. (3) His wife's phone tower data places her in a different wing during the murder window, destroying their mutual alibi.
