Before You Start

🎭 Set Atmosphere & Open Investigation Notes

Run the setup ritual, set the mood, and give each player their worksheet.

Step 1 — Setup (5 min)

Read Case Brief & Assign Roles

Lead Detective reads the brief aloud. Everyone picks a role card.

Step 2 — Evidence Pack A (10 min read + 15 min Round 1)

Study the first set of evidence

Each player reads their role's evidence first, then share with the group.

Step 3 — Round 2: Test Alibis (15 min)

Cross-check alibis against the timeline

Every suspect's alibi must be tested against physical evidence on the Timeline Board.

Step 4 — Evidence Pack B (Round 3, 15 min)

The contradiction surfaces here

Only open after Round 2 is complete. One suspect's alibi will not survive this round.

Step 4.5 — Evidence Pack C (Host Decision)

The financial layer — released by host only

Host unlocks this at their discretion. Contains the forgery documentation and final corroboration. Not released by default.

Step 5 — Final Accusation (10 min)

Each player files an accusation. Lead Detective announces the official call.
